Brivaracetam 100mg

BRIVADIX 100 Tablet is an anti-epileptic medicine used to treat seizures (fits) in epilepsy. It can be used alone or along with other medicines. It helps to prevent seizures for as long as you continue to take it.

INDICATIONS

Starts working quickly to help reduce seizures.

Helps control seizures that start in one part of the brain.

Starts working quickly to calm overactive brain signals.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Brivaracetam works by attaching to a protein in the brain called SV2A (Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2A). This protein helps control the release of chemicals (neurotransmitters) between nerve cells. By binding to SV2A, Brivaracetam helps reduce abnormal electrical activity in the brain. This action helps to prevent or lessen seizures. It works quickly and is more selective than similar older drugs like levetiracetam.
