Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.

OLTERO 20 -H is a combination of two medicinal compounds Olmesartan & Hydrochlorothiazide

This combination is widely used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), and other cardiovascular problems.

INDICATIONS:

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Stroke

Heart attack

Kidney problems

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Angiotensin is the enzyme responsible for constriction of the blood vessels and increasing the blood pressure.Olmesartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). It blocks the action of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptors in vascular smooth muscles, thereby dilating the blood vessels and stabilising the blood pressure.

Hydrochlorothiazide is a Diuretic, it works by removing excess water from the body (Blood) thereby reducing the load on heart and Blood pressure.

DOSAGE:

20 – 40 mg orally once a day, based on the condition of the patient, or as directed by the physician.
