KYPROEX (Divalproex sodium) belongs to a class of drugs called Anti-epileptics.

It is widely used for the treatment of psychotic disorders like epilepsy and mania.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

KYPROEX (Valproic acid) exhibits its pharmacologic effects in a couple of ways, such as by acting on GABA (? aminobutyric acid) levels in the CNS, blocking voltage-gated ion channels, and inhibiting histone deacetylase. These combined actions help in restoring the normal activity of the brain.

DOSAGE:

Initial dose: 1 Tablet once or twice a day or as directed by the doctor.
