Calcitriol is a form of vitamin D3. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium from the stomach. It is also used to treat hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid glands) and metabolic bone disease in people who have chronic kidney failure and are not receiving dialysis.

Calcium carbonate is a dietary supplement used when the amount of calcium taken in the diet is not enough. Calcium is needed by the body for healthy bones, muscles, nervous system, and heart. Calcium carbonate also is used as an antacid to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach.

Zinc helps the immune system and metabolism to function properly. Zinc is also important for wound healing and sense of taste and smell.
