MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Desvenlafaxine, at a 50mg dosage, acts as a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It primarily works by blocking the reabsorption (reuptake) of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. This action leaves more of these neurotransmitters available in the synaptic cleft, the space between nerve cells, enhancing their signaling and potentially alleviating symptoms of depression.
