Itraconazole Capsules 100/200 mg.

ITOTAS (Itraconazole) is an Antifungal medication which belongs to a class of drugs known as Triazoles, It is generally used to treat infections of the mouth, throat, vagina, and other parts of the body including fingernails and toenails.

INDICATIONS:

Aspergillosis (Fungal infection in the lungs)

Fungal infections of mouth & throat

Vulvovaginal candidosis (Vaginal yeast infection)

Blastomycosis (A fungal infections of the lungs which can cause pneumonia)

Onychomycosis (Fungal infection of the toenails or fingernails)

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Itraconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of fungal cell membrane by the inhibition of an enzyme called Lanosterol 14-a-demethylase (This plays a key role in the synthesis of fungal cell membrane), thereby providing fungicidal and fungistatic action.

DOSAGE:

100 to 200 mg/day for two weeks or as directed by the physician.
